Project Summary

During the 2014–15 school year, more than 350 Whitehall Middle School sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students participated in a unique place-based stewardship education project that allowed them not only to learn about a range of education and environmental topics, but to do so while helping their neighbors and improving treasured community assets in their home town, which is situated just off the Lake Michigan coastline.

This project was supported by the West Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative, one of nine regional hubs that comprise the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative.
